I want to introduce you to my latest adventure, VIA Artistica!
I’m collaborating with three friends – Laurel Swetnam, Kirsten Carpentier, and Pam Jacobs – to create a teaching studio in a former Sunday School classroom in Portland, Oregon. We will be part of the grassroots TaborSpace community sharing space with Mount Tabor Presbyterian Church.
We plan to offer affordable art retreats, art classes and workshops, and will be hosting open studio times. We’ve had a great time planning and thinking about this project and now its official. We are renting the space as of September 1st!
We are starting to work on refurbishing the space and have launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise $3000 to cover the costs of painting, installing cabinets, and purchasing tools and art supplies.
Kickstarter is an internet funding platform for creative projects. It is organized in a way similar to a PBS fundraiser, with special rewards for donating at different levels. We have put together a great collection of gifts. Find out more by clicking the button below.
If you would like to support us, there are few hoops to jump through. After you go to the site and select a donation level, you will then set up Kickstarter and Amazon accounts (if you don’t already have them), and finally you are asked for your credit card info. Note that you are only charged if we meet our goal by the end of the month.
I hope you will consider making a small donation. Every $ counts toward making the space a beautiful urban retreat and teaching space!
Our VIA Artistica website has the information about our Fall Calendar of mini-retreats, classes and workshops. Please take a look!
