When she saw Elise&#8217;s bead strands she said, &#8220;I immediately felt I was\u00a0looking at the Northern lights.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" id=\"image227\" style=\"width: 107px; height: 109px;\" title=\"namethiscolorgroup.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/maggiemaggio.com\/color\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/01\/namethiscolorgroup.jpg\" alt=\"namethiscolorgroup.jpg\" width=\"107\" height=\"109\" align=\"right\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Elise sent this me this message on Sunday:<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8221; Y<span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\">our deadline has passed and I checked in to gather the last minute submissions. There were so many great suggestions. And I was very impressed with the depth of thought that people put into their submissions. \u00a0I loved the Wikepedia research, the poetry and the humor (extra-orchid- ary). \u00a0It was hard to make a choice. \u00a0<span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\">There were quite a few contenters &#8211; Fiesta &amp; Calypso capture energy, <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\">Sorbet, mango, saffron, melonberry played to my love of luscious juicy FOOD!<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\"><em>But the final choice was (&#8230;drum roll&#8230;) \u00a0Aurora.<\/em><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\"><em>When I submitted my list of finalists to Woody, he didn&#8217;t skip a beat before declaring Aurora as his choice. \u00a0And then he made an indisputable case for it. \u00a0(Leave it to the poets) \u00a0He felt Aurora connected with nature and light &#8211; both of which are central influences in my work. \u00a0Also, the seduction of shifting light\/color is an element for which I strive.<\/em><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\"><em>So many thanks to Geo for finding the perfect solution to my naming problem.<\/em><\/span><\/div>\n<p>I add my thanks to everyone who participated in the &#8220;Name That Colorway&#8221; Challenge. The names were all very evocative &#8211; I could visualize the beautiful inspirations behind each one.
