The response to the split ring video has been amazing. Thank you to everyone for your wonderful comments. I am so glad you are having fun with them!<\/p>\n

A few people have mentioned that their split rings start to open while they are being worn. There could be many reasons for this.\u00a0<\/p>\n

First –\u00a0 The clay was not conditioned well enough.<\/p>\n

Second -The proportions are not right. If the centers\u00a0of the snakes are not thick enough, or if the ends are too skinny, then the rings\u00a0are not strong enough to stay closed when put together into a chain.<\/p>\n

Third – Small rings were combined with large rings. Sometimes the smaller rings will\u00a0open because there\u00a0is just too much weight on them.<\/p>\n

I am starting to get photos from all over the world. This first round was sent to me by Lawrence\u00a0\u00a0Smith of the Vancouver PolyClayers\u00a0guild.\u00a0 I love the\u00a0red and\u00a0yellow\u00a0one by Barb Alexander – the color flow is fantastic!<\/p>\n

I am on a month-long trip\u00a0to Europe\u00a0with\u00a0 my husband and my two daughters. We are visiting southern Italy together to look for long lost relatives.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The colors of\u00a0the\u00a0Mediterranean area\u00a0are amazing. I will try to share some with you as I go.\u00a0 Saturday School will resume when I get back home.\u00a0 If you want some homework in the meantime . . . try\u00a0experimenting with contrast by making split rings using colors from your collage!\u00a0<\/p>\n
