SMASHING COLOR

11Collaborative workshops for polymer clay, fiber arts and painter’s guilds.  Forget the rules. Come and immerse yourself in color just for the fun of it. Maggie will lead you on a series of crazy rides through everything that is wrong with traditional color theory and then guide your explorations through what really works.

This fast-paced workshop explains the difference between what color is and what color appears to be, teaches you how to troubleshoot to get gorgeous color combinations and encourages you to customize your color choices. You will explore new ideas with collages, polymer clay, dyes (for fiber artist workshops) and paint swatches while filling in your personal color workbook. The two and three day workshops allow more time for collaborative hands-on exercises and the creation of customized color charts and project palettes.

Caution: This workshop may cause you to rethink everything you thought you knew about color.

Level: No experience required, just a willingness to question traditional color theory.

Kit Fee: $15 kit fee includes exercise materials, workbook, handouts and other group supplies.

Space Requirements: Group tables – two 6′ or 8′ tables for every 3 or 4 students, demo table with extra chair for each student and a large collaborative use table in middle of room.
