Kym Pokorny is a garden writer for the Oregonian newspaper here in Portland, and a member of the board for the Hardy Plant Society of Oregon. Her writing is always inspiring and the photos luscious. In this morning’s issue of Home and Garden magazine, Pokorny begins by sharing how “The color wheel makes my head spin like a dog chasing its tail.” and ends the article by saying that you will ” . . . at least want a working relationship with the rotating rainbow we call the color wheel because if nothing else, it gives us permission to ignore it.”
- "I have come to believe that a great teacher is a great artist. Teaching might even be the greatest of the arts since the medium is the human mind and spirit." - John Steinbeck
- “The teacher is of course an artist, but being an artist does not mean that he or she can make the profile, can shape the students. What the educator does in teaching is to make it possible for the students to become themselves.” - Paulo Freire
